Civil Rights Movement
the Freedom Ride:
The Freedom Ride first took place in 1961. Even though the Freedom Ride is renown in civil rights history, it was not the first time that segregation was challenged in the Deep South. The Freedom Rides inspired many people to act, making new laws and changing peoples opinions. The Freedom rides were started by a group named CORE because the government was not enforcing equal rights laws in America properly and some people wanted that to change, so they dared the Government to finally make a move.
